Yoo Jun Won Exits Fantasy Boys Ahead of Group’s Debut

Fantasy Boys to Launch as an 11-Member Ensemble Following Yoo Jun Won's Unexpected Departure

Yoo Jun Won Exits Fantasy Boys Ahead of Group's Debut

Fantasy Boys, the budding boy group birthed from an MBC audition program, is gearing up for their debut. However, they’ll be one member short. Yoo Jun Won, who clinched the top spot in the audition, has made an unforeseen exit and will not be part of the group’s debut.

Funky Studio, the brains behind the show’s production, in conjunction with Pocketdol Studio, responsible for Fantasy Boys’ management, made an official announcement on August 23 KST. They cited Yoo Jun Won’s “unauthorized departure” as the reason for his non-participation in the group’s activities.

For a detailed insight into the situation, refer to the full statement provided:

This is Funky Studio, the production company of ‘Boys Fantasy’, and Pocketdol Studio entrusted with management.
We would like to deliver our position regarding Fantasy Boys member Yoo Jun Won.
We would like to inform you that Yoo Jun Won, who was selected for the debut group ‘Fantasy Boys’ through the MBC audition program ‘Boys Fantasy’, cannot participate in group activities due to his unauthorized departure.
Fantasy Boys is a group that was created by voting from viewers in a survival program aiming to debut. We sincerely apologize for not being able to be together with the 12 people who were created by the viewers.
Right after the program ended, we discussed the contract with Yoo Jun Won and his parents more than a dozen times. Despite the fact that the contract was written according to the standard terms and conditions established and recommended by the Fair Trade Commission, Yoo Jun Won’s parents compared him with other members and demanded an increase in the profit sharing rate under the pretext of ranking first in the program, and requested we modify the contract.
If we adjust the profit distribution rate differently from other members with the final vote ranking, equity issues may arise, so we fully explained why we couldn’t do that. However, Yoo Jun Won’s parents made Yoo Jun Won leave without permission twice and at the time we notified him that he would not be able to join the team in the end.
As a result, Fantasy Boys will be active as an 11-member system of Kim Gyu Rae, Hong Seong Min, Oh Hyeon Tae, Lee Han Bin, Ling Qi, Kang Min Seo, Hikari, K-Soul, Kim Woo Seok, Hikaru, and Kaedan.
We will do our best to resolve this issue amicably and will not hold back our full support so that the remaining 11 members can prepare for their debut without wavering. We ask for unchanging warm support and encouragement for the members who are about to debut.
Thank you.
