TXT makes history as the first international act to top Oricon’s weekly album chart with eight consecutive albums, with their latest Japanese album “SWEET” leading the charge.

On the 11th of January, Oricon, Japan’s leading music chart, confirmed that TXT’s second Japanese album “SWEET” had clinched the top spot on its weekly album chart. The album, released between July 3rd and 9th, recorded over 303,000 sales in Japan alone.

This achievement makes TXT the first international act to secure the number one position on Oricon’s weekly album chart with eight consecutive albums, maintaining a flawless streak that began in 2020. The K-pop sensation has consistently reached the top with their albums “The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY,” “minisode 1: Blue Hour,” “Still Dreaming,” “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE,” “Chaotic Wonderland,” “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child,” “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION,” and now “SWEET.

“SWEET” has not only dominated Oricon’s daily album chart for the past seven days but also set a new record for TXT’s highest first-week sales in Japan. The album’s sales mark a significant 160 percent increase from their previous record of approximately 185,000, set by their latest Korean mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION.”

Furthermore, “SWEET” debuted at No. 1 on Line Music’s weekly album chart in Japan, having topped the daily album chart for six consecutive days.
