NewJeans Continues to Dominate Billboard Charts with Latest Album and Singles
NewJeans is rewriting the record books on the Billboard charts with their recent album.
On the evening of August 22, Billboard disclosed that NewJeans’ sophomore mini-album “Get Up” has impressively held its position within the top 20 of the Billboard 200, which ranks the most sought-after albums in the US, for an entire month.
During the week that concluded on August 26, “Get Up” slightly descended to No. 16. This achievement marks it as the pioneering K-pop girl group album to consistently stay in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 for four weeks.
Simultaneously, NewJeans’ chart-topping single “Super Shy” maintained its No. 79 position for its sixth week in a row on the Hot 100, Billboard’s weekly list of the US’s top songs. This track is now the second from NewJeans to achieve a six-week run on the Hot 100, following “OMG”. Remarkably, NewJeans is the second K-pop girl group, after BLACKPINK, to chart multiple songs for six weeks each.
Furthermore, “Get Up” celebrated its fourth week at the pinnacle of Billboard’s World Albums chart. It also clinched the No. 3 position on various other charts, including the Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and Tastemaker Albums.
On the Artist 100 chart, NewJeans remained resilient at No. 12, marking their eighth week on this chart.
To top it off, several tracks from “Get Up” showcased strong performances on Billboard’s global charts. Specifically, on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Super Shy” retained its No. 5 position, accompanied by “ETA” at No. 11, “New Jeans” at No. 49, “Cool With You” at No. 84, and “ASAP” at No. 165. Meanwhile, on the Global 200, “Super Shy” secured the No. 11 spot, with “ETA” at No. 25, “New Jeans” at No. 75, and “Cool With You” at No. 115.
