Renowned actor Lee Dong Wook and SHINee member Minho have been selected as the first official ‘Olympic™ Friends,’ a prestigious designation announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 1 KST.
The ‘Olympic™ Friends’ initiative is a unique program that enlists popular figures to promote the Olympic Games’ core values. Lee Dong Wook, having previously served as an official ambassador for the ‘2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games’ and participated in the ‘2018 Winter Paralympics’ torch relay, brings significant experience to this role. Similarly, Minho of SHINee is celebrated for his involvement in supporting various sports organizations and events on multiple levels.
In their capacity as ‘Olympic™ Friends,’ Lee Dong Wook and Minho will commence their promotional activities for the ‘2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics’ throughout December. Their involvement aims to inspire and support the aspirations of young athletes globally.
The ‘2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics’ is set to take place from January 19 to February 1, 2024, and will see these two Korean stars playing a pivotal role in amplifying the excitement and spirit of the Olympic movement.
