LE SSERAFIM Breaks Record For Highest 1st-Week Sales Of Any Girl Group Debut Album In Hanteo History
HYBE’s new girl group LE SSERAFIM is already setting impressive records!
Last week, LE SSERAFIM made their much-anticipated debut with their new mini album “FEARLESS” along with the music video for their title track of the same name.
According to Hanteo Chart, “FEARLESS” sold a total of 307,450 copies in the first week of its release from May 2 to 8. This impressive record also marks them as the girl group with the ninth-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history. Including LE SSERAFIM, there are only six girl groups total who have surpassed 300,000 copies in sales during the first week, and LE SSERAFIM is the first of these groups to surpass the number with their debut album.
On the day of the album’s release, LE SSERAFIM sold 176,861 copies, recording the highest sales volume for a girl group on the first day. On the second day, the album sold an additional 65,409 copies, raising the total number of copies sold to 242,270 and already allowing them to surpass the previous girl group debut album record of 227,399 copies sold in the first week.
Furthermore, all the B-sides on the album entered the chart for major domestic music streaming site Bugs and Japan’s Line Music. Their title track “FEARLESS” entered Line Music’s Daily Top Songs chart at No. 7 on May 2, and the song has continued to rank high, placing at No. 5 as of May 8.
On May 3, the title track also entered Spotify’s Global Top 200 at No. 171 and continued to remain on the charts for three consecutive days. This is the shortest time it took for a girl group’s debut song to enter the Global Top 200 chart, also ranking high on Korea’s Top 200 chart.
