Golden Disc Awards 2024: Jakarta Awaits K-pop’s Biggest Night
38th GDA to be Held at Jakarta International Stadium Amid Rising Global K-pop Influence
As K-pop’s global footprint continues to widen, the prestigious Golden Disc Awards (GDA) confirms its 38th ceremony in the heart of Indonesia. Slated for January 6, 2024, music enthusiasts will gather at the sprawling Jakarta International Stadium, capable of housing an audience of roughly 80,000.
With the recent surge in K-pop’s international popularity, the Golden Disc Awards committee unveiled its plans, stating, “Acknowledging K-pop’s burgeoning global reach and constant appeals from Asian fans eager for live interactions with artists, we’ve chosen Jakarta. Our aim is to forge stronger connections between diverse music aficionados, both local and international, through the universal language of K-pop.
In another noteworthy mention, the same venue is gearing up for the U-17 World Cup, kicking off on November 10. Looking back, this isn’t the GDA’s first overseas rendezvous. Previous editions have graced Japan, Malaysia, China, and Thailand. Fans should mark December 4 on their calendars, as that’s when the nominees across various 38th GDA categories will be unveiled on official platforms and social media channels.
