BLACKPINK Tops 8 Billboard Charts + “Shut Down” Joins “Pink Venom” On Hot 100
BLACKPINK has dominated this week’s Billboard charts with their long-awaited album “BORN PINK”!
This week, BLACKPINK made history as the first female K-pop artist ever to top the Billboard 200 as their new studio album “BORN PINK” entered the chart at No. 1. The group’s new title track “Shut Down” also debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart, making it only the second K-pop song released in 2022 to achieve the feat (following BLACKPINK’s own “Pink Venom”).
Billboard has now revealed more of BLACKPINK’s achievements on this week’s charts: the group topped no less than eight different Billboard charts this week, with “BORN PINK” entering four separate charts at No. 1.
Not only did “BORN PINK” debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but it also swept the No. 1 spot on the Top Album Sales chart, the Top Current Album Sales chart, and the Tastemaker Albums chart.
Meanwhile, in addition to the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Shut Down” also entered the World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1 this week.
Additionally, BLACKPINK re-entered Billboard’s Artist 100 at No. 1, marking their second time topping the chart.
Finally, “Shut Down” debuted at No. 25 on Billboard’s Hot 100, while BLACKPINK’s pre-release single “Pink Venom” climbed back up to No. 57 in its fifth consecutive week on the chart.
