NewJeans Joins Elite K-Pop League: Secures Top 10 Spot on Billboard 200 for Two Weeks
NewJeans' "Get Up": A Billboard 200 Chart Sensation
NewJeans is making waves in the global music scene, marking a significant milestone on the Billboard 200.
Just a week ago, the K-Pop sensation made a grand entrance, debuting at the coveted No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart with their latest mini album, “Get Up”. This marked their inaugural appearance on this prestigious chart.
As the week culminated on August 12, “Get Up” showcased its staying power, holding firm at No. 6, celebrating its second week in a row on the Billboard 200.
This commendable feat positions NewJeans in an exclusive club, being only the third K-pop girl group to sustain an album’s presence in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for consecutive weeks. They now share this honor with renowned groups BLACKPINK and TWICE.
Data from Luminate (previously known as Nielsen Music) reveals that “Get Up” garnered a total of 55,000 equivalent album units during its second week.
On another note, NewJeans’ captivating pre-release single, “Super Shy”, continues its journey on Billboard’s Hot 100, securing the No. 77 spot. This marks the group’s third track, following “Ditto” and “OMG”, to enjoy a four-week tenure on this chart.
