NewJeans Sets Record on Billboard Hot 100 with Triple Chart-Toppers

NewJeans continues to redefine success on the global music stage, especially on the esteemed Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

On August 15, as per local time, Billboard’s latest update showcased NewJeans’ chartbuster “Super Shy” ascending once again, securing the No. 66 spot. This marks the song’s impressive fifth week streak on this prestigious chart.

With this, NewJeans has etched their name in history as the premier female K-pop act to have three distinct tracks each charting for a commendable five weeks on the Hot 100. Prior to “Super Shy”, their tracks “Ditto” and “OMG” had also enjoyed a five-week tenure earlier in the year.

Further amplifying their success, NewJeans’ recent mini-album “Get Up” remains robust at No. 12 in its third week on the Billboard 200. This achievement positions it as the second K-pop female group album to consistently stay within the top 15 for three weeks straight. The only other album from a K-pop girl group to mirror this success has been BLACKPINK’s 2020 release, “THE ALBUM.”

“Get Up” also clinched the top spot on the Tastemaker Albums chart this week, while simultaneously reigning supreme for its third consecutive week on the World Albums chart. It also secured the second position on both the Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts.

In addition, several tracks from “Get Up” showcased their staying power across Billboard’s global charts. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Super Shy” held the No. 5 position, trailed by “ETA” at No. 8, “New Jeans” at No. 37, “Cool With You” at No. 54, and “ASAP” at No. 109. On the Global 200, “Super Shy” made a notable climb to No. 7, accompanied by “ETA” at No. 18, “New Jeans” at No. 56, “Cool With You” at No. 78, and “ASAP” at No. 161. Moreover, “ETA” also secured the No. 9 spot on the World Digital Song Sales chart for the week.

To top it all, NewJeans sustained their No. 6 rank on Billboard’s Artist 100, marking their seventh week on this chart, albeit non-consecutively.
