DJs Marvel Riot & Singer Celina Sharma share club song
UK dance duo Marvel Riot have joined forces with Australian vocalist Celina Sharma on new single ‘Say You Want It’, out now via Lift Me Up Records, the new label from Cool FM and BBC Radio 1 DJ Connor Coates.
Pairing Sharma’s sultry vocal stylings with rousing piano chords, ‘Say You Want It’ is a feelgood deep house gem based around a sample of UK garage hit ‘Do You Really Like It’ by DJ Pied Piper and Master of Ceremonies, which went to #1 in the UK in 2001. Following on from Henry Daniel’s tech bomb ‘Shake That’, ‘Say You Want It’ is the second in a series of tracks that Lift Me Up plans to release. With its founding mission to put amazing dance music in front of people – from crossover dance records to club focused tracks – the label will be a positive place for like-minded individuals to come together and collaborate.
“I have been using my radio shows as a platform to help break new dance acts over the years and I want the label to do exactly that,” Coates explained. “To help develop the next generation of talent, alongside working with established names. I come from a DJing background; so, I want this to be at the core of the label. I want to create a platform for the DJs signed to Lift Me Up to be able to play their music to the public and get real time responses and feedback.”
Marvel Riot is an alias for two well-known producers in the industry who have a multitude of hits and a Grammy nomination between them. They have previously worked with the likes of IMANBEK, Jhene Akio, Sofia Reyes and Kiesza.
The label’s second stellar single release in quick succession, ‘Say You Want It’ sees Lift Me Up continue its rapid rise.
