BTS’s Jungkook Sets Billboard Milestone: Dominates Global Charts for Three Consecutive Weeks
Jungkook's "Seven": A Chart-Topping Phenomenon in Billboard's Annals
BTS‘s very own Jungkook is rewriting the annals of Billboard with his stellar solo debut.
In a groundbreaking move last month, Jungkook etched his name as the pioneering Korean solo artist to launch a song at the pinnacle of Billboard’s Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. chart. His solo sensation “Seven”, featuring Latto, clinched the top spot across these three charts.
Fast forward to the week culminating on August 12, and “Seven” remains unshaken at its No. 1 position on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. This marks the third consecutive week, making Jungkook the inaugural Korean solo artist to achieve this feat on either chart.
Moreover, “Seven” retained its stronghold within the Hot 100’s top 30, securing the No. 30 spot after two successive weeks in the elite top 10. This places Jungkook in a league of his own, being only the second Korean solo artist to achieve this, the first being PSY over a decade ago.
The track’s resonance didn’t stop there. It ascended to its zenith at No. 20 during its third week on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, reflecting its popularity across mainstream Top 40 radio stations in the U.S.
Simultaneously, “Seven” held its ground at No. 6 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart and No. 31 on the Streaming Songs chart, showcasing its third-week consistency.
To round off his impressive week, Jungkook secured the No. 57 spot on this week’s Artist 100, marking his seventh week on this esteemed chart.
