The HBO Game of Thrones prequel series has continued to grip fans with its stellar acting, high stakes drama and, of course, gay vibes.

At the end of the last episode we saw the current King Viserys (Paddy Considine) proclaim his daughter Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) as his heir over his brother, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

In episode two we see the consequences of this decision play out as Daemon takes over another castle, Dragonstone, and attempts a stand-off with the King, which is averted just in time.

Meanwhile, in Viserys’ continued pursuit to have a son, there is a council meeting to discuss who his second wife should be, after his first wife and baby son died during a C-section in episode one.

Military leader Corlys Velaryon horrifyingly offers his 12-year-old daughter, Laena Velaryon (Nova Foueillis-Mosé), for marriage, but in a dramatic twist the King chooses Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey) aka Rhaenyra’s best friend and probably lover.

In the first episode viewers pointed out there was definitely something more to Alicent and Rhaenyra’s bond, and even Carey and Alcock themselves have admitted they played up the chemistry between the two characters.

Now, fans are devastated at the scene where Alicent’s fate appears to be sealed, spelling a tearing apart of their friendship.

And while things are not looking good for Alicent and Rhaenyra, the next episode will see the appearance of Laena’s twin brother, Laenor (Theo Nate).

Although he has not been fully fleshed out yet, fans of the book know that eventually Rhaenyra and Laenor are going to end up married.

It is all but confirmed in the book series that Laenor is gay, with some fans speculating the two could end up acting as beards for each other.

As we time jump again in the next episode of House of the Dragon, we may soon come across Ser Joffrey Lonmouth played by Solly McLeod.

It has long been assumed Joffrey and Laenor were lovers and if the images from the set released last year of McLeod and Nate are anything to go by we could see something develop there.
