The official Drag Race UK Twitter account posted a 10-second clip on Tuesday (30 August) teasing a fourth season, but the BBC is keeping its mouth firmly shut on any extra details for now.

In the teaser clip, the words “bring it to the runway” flash up on the screen before “S4” appears over a glittering backdrop.

The clip, which manages to give almost nothing away, ends with the instantly recognisable sound of RuPaul laughing.

Drag Race UK fans are living for season four

The reaction from fans was instant – people rushed to Twitter to share their excitement. The general consensus was pretty much “hook it to our veins”.

Fans are crying out for more info – which drag icons from across the UK will be competing? When will episodes air? But for now, they’ve been left completely in the dark.

The news comes almost a full year after BBC Three confirmed that the hugely popular UK spin-off of the drag contest would be getting a fourth season.

In a clip posted to social media in October 2021, RuPaul issued a call for UK queens to throw their names into the hat to become the nation’s next drag superstar.

Drag Race has only gone from strength to strength ever since it debuted in the United States all the way back in 2009.

Today, numerous countries have their own versions of the hit contest – and the UK spin-off has emerged as one of the most popular thanks to a slate of truly iconic guest judges.

It also helps that the UK version boasts both RuPaul and Michelle Visage as judges.

Drag Race UK has launched some of the biggest and best drag icons of the moment into the stratosphere ever since it kicked off in 2019.

Past winners include The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace, while icons such as Bimini Bon Boulash and Divina De Campo got their start on the contest.

In perhaps one of its finest moments, Drag Race UK gifted the world with “UK, Hun”.

More of that energy in season four, please.
