On July 30, precisely at 4:26 p.m. KST, the music video for BLACKPINK’s 2018 sensation “DDU-DU DDU-DU” crossed the 2.1 billion view mark on YouTube, setting a new record as the first K-pop group music video to achieve this feat.
The only other K-pop music video that has managed to garner 2.1 billion views on YouTube so far is the unforgettable 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” by PSY.
BLACKPINK first unveiled “DDU-DU DDU-DU” on June 15, 2018, at 6 p.m. KST. It took the video a mere 5 years, 1 month, 14 days, 22 hours, and 26 minutes to set this new record.
